Established in 1985, Environmental Measurements design and manufacture a comprehensive range of instrumentation for meteorological and environmental monitoring.
The product range includes wind speed and wind direction sensors, aerodynamic raingauges, temperature humidity probes, barometric pressure sensors, surface wetness probes, data loggers and automatic weather stations. The company is also distributors in the UK for the Vaisala range of surface weather products including the WAA151/WAV151 wind sensors, DRD11A rain detector, WAS425 ultrasonic wind sensor and MAWS low cost weather station.
Flagship product is the ARG100 aerodynamic raingauge which typically captures over 5% more rainfall than traditionally-shaped cylindrical gauges due to its unique aerodynamic shape and reduced evaporation loss capabilities.
Overseas sales account for more than 30% of the company's activities with main markets being Norway, Greece, Italy, Finland, Holland, USA, France and Portugal.
Main customers are agricultural and horticultural institutes, university research departments, weather centres, municipal environmental health departments, water companies, forestry commissions and hydrologists.
The company's engineering and sales departments provide a high level of technical and commercial expertise to give customers first class pre-contract advice and after-sales service.
