Newcastle University Mine Water Project

Acting as project leaders the company recently completed the supply and installation of a significant number of Hydrological and Hydro-mechanical monitoring systems and associated telematics to the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.  Working in conjunction with 2 other major partners, Vaisala Oyj of Finland and YSI Hydrodata Ltd of Letchworth Herts, the project called for a number of integrated field based systems to collect and transmit data from a series of mine water remediation wetlands sites back to the University.  Equipment supplied included EML rain monitoring systems complete with ARG100 rain gauges together with water quality probes from YSI plus Vaisala MAWS100 and MAWS301 hydromet monitoring systems and associated MetMan database software.

This was an extremely valuable and prestigious project which successfully illustrated the company’s ability to manage and co-ordinate major projects incorporating, in part, equipment outside its own immediate area of meteorological monitoring.
