Multi-Sensor Weather monitoring for BNFL, Sellafield

The company has just completed the supply, installation and commissioning of a major weather monitoring system for BNFL at Sellafield. Comprising a Vaisala MAWS301 hydromet station with dual data loggers and associated software.  The system included eight ultrasonic wind sensors and air temperature probes mounted on a 48m tower mast.  The wind sensors were mounted a various heights with redundancy sensors included at 10 and 48 metres.  The system includes fixed line modems for delivery of real time data to the BNFL server.  The project was completed in co-operation with BNFL, AMEC and LARS Communication.
