In 2023, EML, in partnership with Eldes of Italy, carried out a major upgrade of WR-10X X-Band weather radar on the roof of Newcastle University in UK.
The WR-10X was originally installed in 2016, it has since provided important data to researchers and interested parties in the local and wider area.
Following it’s upgrade in 2023, in August 2024 despite the best efforts Storm Floris, a full service was carried out by our expert engineers to ensure the radar continues to perform at its ultimate capacity.
The WR-10X is single polarisation non doppler mini weather radar. It provides a compact, affordable and practical solution for a wide range of applications.
Since 2016 EML have supplied/installed/maintained Radars at University of Stirling and Birmingham/Sheffield Universities (for example).
EML are working closely with Academic partners to increase the WR-10X radar coverage as wide as possible throughout the UK & Ireland.
