Environmental Measurements Limited (EML) was established in 1985. Back in the early 80's a new type of rain gauge was developed with an aerodynamic shape. This was our first product, the ARG100. We stopped producing the ARG100 in 2019 and replaced it with the ARG314 which takes advantage of modern manufacturing techniques. Since then EML have added a feast of Hydro-Met products to the range along with over 20 years services and project management for small and large clients.
EML are the friendly Hydro-Met team that get the job done.

Enda's background
Professor O’Connell has contributed extensively to the international literature in the areas of stochastic rainfall modelling, distributed physically-based modelling of river basins, climate change impact assessment, flood risk estimation, and water resources management. In the groundwater field, he has worked on the design of groundwater monitoring networks, spatial estimation/mapping of hydrogeological properties, and on the geostatistical simulation of subsurface media properties. He has extensive experience of managing a wide range of research and consulting projects. At Newcastle University, Enda has built up the Water Resource Systems Research Laboratory into one of the largest and most successful university research centres in the UK, with a highly regarded international reputation. |
Terry's background
Terry has been with EML from the early days in Oxford in 1985. He moved to the north east of England in 1989, when the company moved to Newcastle Upon Tyne. Terry has a mechanical engineering background and is responsible for keeping the current range of products up to standard. Terry is also highly involved with the development and testing of new products. Terry’s interests away from the EML offices are football, cricket, and F1 motor sports. However, his main hobby is carp fishing; this takes up most if not all of his holidays as the lake he fishes is located in the Champagne region of France. |
