Sellafield Sights...!
In early 2017 EML successfully installed a complex weather station at Sellafield Nuclear Facility in Cumbria (for Sellafield Sites and OneFM). The system comprises of eight ultrasonic wind sensors, several temperature sensors, a pyranometer (solar radiation), a Net radiation and an EML SBS rain gauge. This dual logging system send crucial real-time weather data over a modem phone line to the controllers office. The system was designed by EML and Vaisala (Finland). EML managed the installation and commissioning work. LARS Communications were a critical partner in carrying out the 48m climbing work!
The project was successfully delivered 2-weeks ahead of schedule.
Sellafield Sites commented, “EML has a very enthusiastic team willing to go the extra mile. Their expert knowledge and experience showed, ensured the project was finished on scheduled even with the tightest of deadlines. Our system has been working faultlessly since the installation.”
